Floor Grates
Here in Ontario we live in a periodically cold climate (and then it’s sometimes hot, too). Thus, we have heat (and sometimes cold air) billowing out of holes in our floors and walls.
Well, why not make those openings into art as well as function?
We bring you the classic floor grate (and sometimes wall grate) in cast iron salvaged from houses all over north America (but mostly Ontario these days). They’re around 100 – 150 years old and we usually leave them in “as found” condition but can clean them up, if you wish.
When you come, bring the size of your floor hole and look for any options to modify your opening to fi the grate.
We also have a large collection of decorative wooden grates made about 20 years ago. They’re handy and sized to suit more modern openings but are not great for high traffic zones.
Of course, there are any number of other uses for these pretty pieces – trivets, table tops, gate windows, Frisbees (what?), false fire inserts – you come up with a few.
