Stained Glass
While I confess a certain weakness for stained glass, I am by no means a pushover. There’s good stained glass and there’s bad stained glass and I like to surround myself with the better stuff, if I can help it.
Traditional painted glass changed little over a millennium from the 10thC until the late 190thC. Methods, styles and colours remained in common use until artists like Louis Comfort Tiffany spectacularly upended the cart leading to a whole slew of new designs and uses.
Still, for me, it’s the rich primary colours – the reds, blues, yellows and greens – and the stunning brush work on the figural elements that most captivate.
At Artefacts, you will always find some stained glass – if not suitable for your needs, at least to enjoy on the spot.
