Brackets
Due to our geography, we routinely seem to be swimming in lovely brackets (or corbels, if you will) salvaged from Victorian houses throughout southern Ontario.
Large brackets are found under the eaves of houses dating from 1840s to the 1920s and smaller versions are often placed at the top of bay windows or used as porch accents. Getting them down is a delicate dance with danger as we’re often on the top rung of the ladder but they are worth it!
We’ve used them as counter supports for a kitchen island, on opposite sides of a room to create a soft divide, as range hood supports, side tables, floating shelves and many other ways – the list is endless.
While we can’t guarantee a constant supply, nor will we always have the perfect size for your project, we always seek them out and generally have a good selection on hand.
