Unique, Reclaimed Headboards & Bed Frames

Beds fall into an interesting category — they are at once both a formal focal point and an intimate part of our day-to-day lives, shaping our most personal space. Perhaps because of this balance, we can allow ourselves to be a little playful with the design, especially when incorporating antique, reclaimed, and truly unique elements.

The possibilities are virtually endless when it comes to creating a headboard. And with four or five often needed in a house or cottage, the opportunity to design something distinctive for each space is irresistible.

The key is to keep your mind open and view every antique or reclaimed piece you encounter as potential inspiration. Below are a few examples of unique headboards we’ve created in the not-too-distant past.

Arched Delight

Shuttered

A seemingly random collection of shutters, adorned with fairy lights serves here not only as a headboard but a city scape art piece to boot.

We took this basement board door, cleaned, sanded and finished it, turned it sideways and added feet so that it could be this …

… a beautiful and approachable backdrop to these lovely pillows.
